THE NINTH ANNUAL TROMADANCE FILM FESTIVAL ANNOUNCES A BRAND NEW VENUE AND FIVE FILMS FOCUSING ON EDUCATION THROUGH THE ART OF INDEPENDENCE!

For the first time in Tromadance history, the Tromadance Film Festival adds a whole day of feature screenings at our newest venue: the gorgeous Salt Lake City Library.

We will kick off the day with several "Best Of" Tromadance selections from our nine-year history, followed by five feature films that continue our focus of educating on Independent History and Independent Voices, an appropriate addition for our smart new location!   This year's Salt Lake City Library feature selections include Independents (d: Chris Brandt), Vampira (d: Kevin Sean Michaels), Sideshow Still Alive (d: Juan C. Lopez), A-Bo The Humonkey (d: Frankie Frain) and Blood, Boobs & Beast (d: John Paul Kinhart). Join us for these incisive portrayals of fiercely independent individuals dedicated to the creation and craft of some of the most unique art on the planet...and a movie about a half man/monkey that attends public high school.

Screenings will begin Tuesday, January 22nd, 2008, at 10am and will continue until 8:30pm, followed by our opening night reception at indie stalwart, and TromaDance do-or-die supporters, Night Flight Comics (Library Square, 210 East 400 South, SLC, UT) beginning at 9pm.

TromaDance is the first film festival wholeheartedly devoted to filmmakers and fans.  Unlike every other film festival, TromaDance does not charge filmmakers to submit their films. Entrance to all screenings is free and open to the public. Also, there are no VIP reservations or preferential treatment regarding films, panels, or  parties of any kind given. The organizers of TromaDance believe films are meant to be seen, especially when it comes to new filmmakers. TromaDance is proud to be the first and  only film festival of the people, for the people, and by the people.

For more press information regarding The Salt Lake City Library, our Official Feature Selections or our continuing dates in Salt Lake City and Park City, UT, please contact Jonathan Lees at 917.969.6172 or documentia@gmail.com.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

TROMADANCE URGENTLY NEEDS YOUR SUPPORT!

We are VERY BEHIND on donations and need your support right now!!!

For the past several years, TromaDance has dedicated itself to giving new filmmakers an opportunity to show their movies to an open, unbiased audience. At TromaDance, filmmakers are not charged to submit their movies, and admission to all screenings, panels, parties and events is free and on a first-come first-serve basis. TromaDance's responsibility is to the filmmakers and to the fans who make this festival possible year after year. The event is run entirely by volunteers, without any large corporate sponsorship. As the Park City festival circuit grows, it is becoming increasingly costly to hold TromaDance each year.

Without your donations, there will be no TROMADANCE this year!

Donations can be made to www.tromadance.com with an option to receive a Troma Contribution Reward*. Help keep independent art alive!

*TromaDance is a sponsored project of www.fracturedatlas.org, a non-profit arts service organization.
